A Tragedy in two Act
Synopsis:
The story centres around the social life of three university student all for different reasons have found themselves ineligible partner material. Out of their frustration in a drunken argument they form the social called the singles club whose sole intention is to break up as many happy couples as possible until everyone is single. The whole society ends tragically as it spirals out of control.
The actually plot follows the story of our heroine ‘The Whore’ and her struggle to lose her sluttish reputation. I imagined it to have very graphic language and to heavily script driven with only a few simple sets e.g. a student bedroom, a bar and maybe a lecture hall.
Characters Concepts:
THE WHORE: is feisty yet sub servant to the two blokes. A intelligent independent confident modern women.
THE COMEDIAN: Witty, Bitchy, Bitter and Very clever.
MR NICE GUY: Very smart, Outwardly very similar character to THE COMEDIAN yet generally more of a walk over.
THE TEASE: The Woman that ever wants, your English down trodden version of the Head cheerleader American stereotype.
Basic plot summary:
Everyone takes the piss out of ‘The whore’
The Tease dumps Mr Nice Guy.
The main three get very drunk and start complaining about relationship , women , sex, happy couples and the single club is formed as part of a bet.
Everything is forgotten about for a little while as a drunken rubbish until the comedian splits up a couple and demands that the other two make good on the bet.
This spurs the other two into joining in the competition.
During this The Whore makes attempts to lose her slutty reputation, changing her image and being nicer but everyone just continues to get the micky taken out of her in the name of playful banter.
They split up various couple and the games continue until the whore realises that by using her reputation she can split up couples just by implying that she may of slept with them, she goes over board storms into the lead.
The comedian admits to Mr Nice guy that he made up all the stories about The whore.
Everything starts to go wrong as other student realise what going on and the bet is discovered.
The whore is blamed and the Victimised student call for a kind of witch hunt. She snaps goes a little insane, and ends up hiding in her bedroom. Mr Nice Guy come to try and comfort her, within this conversation you realise that they have referred to her as ‘The Whore’ for so long that they can’t remember what her real name actual is and his attempt to comfort her just ends up upsetting her more.
A few days later Mr Nice guy enters ‘The Whore’ room where she is unconscious lying on her bed with a bottle of Jack Daniels in her hand. He tries to wake her but fails. He then sits their and explains that he taken the blame for all the whole thing and is leaving, he then gentle kisses her forehead and leaves. THE END
